I’d like to earn my degree through a well known university or college that will let me do all or most of it online. I am an English major (in Comm. College right now). I know some great schools are really only great if you are becoming an engineer so I need a school that will be taken seriously if I English major there. Help!
There are tons of online programs. I personally attended traditional and online-only schools, and I have taught for various online schools and traditional schools over the last five years. All are accredited and solid programs. Schools tend to vary in price, so we could say online schools are more expensive, but that is relative. Of course they are more expensive than a community college, but less expensive than Harvard. The price range varies.
The key is to find a program that is fully accredited. You should market yourself and not the degree or university. There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. Look at that if you are truly concerned with the name of the school. Good luck on your search!

I am a service inch in consumer durables co and I have 15yrs exp in service operation and I would like to join some online degree. Please answer
You can check the BITS PILANI website…
They have B.S. which is equivalent to B.E. which they provide for distance learning students..
All you have to do is check with the BITS PILANI web site http://www.bits-pilani.ac.in/dlp-home you will have all the instructions provided in this page..
The fees is also quite resonable, but the syllabus is quite tough… but dont worry you will be rewarded for you hard work later.. with a certificate almost equivalent to Engineering Certificate..
i appreciate you interest in studies even after this age…. it is always "Seek knowledge, and world will seek you"
Best of luck!! and god bless ya!

- College or University in Usa, Canada, Australia or Europe.
- to obtain a bachelor degree.
- totally Online.
There are some "distance learning" directories available. I don't know if you would have a library or bookstore in Colombia that would have such a book. Perhaps you could order such a book (search Amazon.com to find titles). I recall looking at one for a masters in EE and found Rochester Institute of Technology and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute — both good schools and both in New York state (USA). But I don't know if they offer a BSEE degree totally online.

I am plannning in getting a civil enginner tech degree online. But are those degrees any good?
Civil engineering is really booming right now. If you are a Tech, make sure you take alot of AutoCAD drawing. There is a shortage of good draftspersons. You can also use those skills in other Engineering disciplines, Municipal work, Department of Transportation (DOT) and even Architecture.

i cant find one, so my guess would be no… is it possible to get an eng. tech degree (yuck), and then get an online bach degree… and is it worth my time if i am already in the 50-60's… i hate my job, but it pays good, i have had one semester of college (basically partied) but calculas was a breeze for me, and i wondered if it was even worth looking into… lesson to all college students… party less and get your degree
If calculus was a breeze you may think about a comp sci, or math, or computer engineering degree (yes they can be done online).
It is better if you can attend classes but if you can't online degrees are fine – provided thay are from reliable schools. I recommend Empire college:

and Park

Other reliable ones out there as well – these are the two I know of however. Do not go to Kaplan, Phoenix, Westwood or their like. Accredited – yes – but expensive and with a poor reputation.
Thanks
Bill
