When I go to college, I plan to take business and I would like to study in learning book keeping so which…?

Degree would I choose? Would it be Associates, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral, Certificates, Diploma’s, Coursework, or MBA? I know this is a dumb question, but something tells me that I should ask this. I also plan on taking college online, but I’m not exactly for sure as to which one is the best. It would be nice if I could find something not cheap, but not real expensive either. I would also like someone online that is willing to help me 5 days a week and it would be really great if it were on the weekends too, but it doesn’t have to be.

I’m a junior right now, but I would like to start looking now and kind of be ready right after I graduate from school. So please, if you can give me as much truthful information as possible, I would really appreciate it.

You shouldn’t think of all the degrees you mention as immediately an option. Some require other degrees in order to start working towards them.

First, coursework is not a degree, it’s the classes you take to get a degree. A diploma is a general term for a degree in the United States (it’s a degree in Germany for instance, but let’s not confuse you). A certificate is not a degree, it’s a statement that you have taken classes in a particular area.

Associates and Bachelors are degrees that are options open to you right now. An Associate’s degree (usually a 2 year degree) is a terminal degree (meaning you can’t go on to a Masters, for instance), unless you then get a Bachelor’s degree. A Bachelor’s degree (a 4 year degree) is the only way that you can then go on to get a Masters, and then a Doctoral degree. An MBA is a particular type of master’s degree – a Master of Business Administration. Generally people don’t go on to get a Doctoral degree after an MBA, but there’s not reason you can’t. A Doctoral degree is something you can get only if you have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s first (well, unless you’re in a Doctoral program that “includes” the Masters classes, but you never get the Masters).

Anyway, since it sounds like you want to major in business, you would have the most options open to you if you got a Bachelors degree in business. You can always get an MBA latter, if you want.

I want to be a psychologist.. but where do i begin? I know the courses i need to take in college and all but what is "A doctoral degree from an APA accredited university"?? and how do i get my license? What is the difference between a councilorand a psychologist? This all seems so much more complex than i thought it was and also i know what i want to do as my job but i have no clue what area of psychology it falls into.. such as clinical or whatever.. i ddon'tknow. im just confused and i need like an aadviseror something.. Just somebody to talk to about it and answer my questions so please help. Thanks. Oh and is a a terrible idea to get a degree online?

I am also pursuing a career in psychology. To be licensed, a psychologist must complete a doctorate degree and 2-3 years of supervised practice. It begins with a bachelors degree which will get you a psychology related position. It is perfectly acceptable to do much of the learning on-line, although some of the learning will require actual classroom time.

Robert A, you should consider seeing a psychologist to help you with that paranoia problem. For your information, psychologists do not prescribe medication at all. Psychiatrists do that.

What qualifications do I need to have to get admitted into a Post-Baccalaureate program in Classics???

I am a senior studying at an accredited, smaller university and I am currently majoring in History. Although I have only taken 1 year of Latin, I am looking to pursue a doctoral degree in Classics. Currently, I am looking into Post-Baccalaureate programs in Classics at Columbia, UCLA, Georgetown, UC Davis, and UPenn. Does anyone know the admission requirements for these schools, particularly Columbia and Georgetown???

Also, I know that I don't have enough language credits required for UPenn, but I was considering applying anyway – does anyone know my chances of getting in?

FYI, I have enrolled myself at UC Berkeley's intensive summer Greek program. I'm hoping this well help my application.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm really having trouble finding answers online…

Generally speaking for masters programs they expect you to be on a reading level in both Greek and Latin (about 3 years each). If you can reach that in one language, you can often catch up in the other, but that will delay your graduation and will likely exclude you from some of the top programs.

Post-baccalaureate programs are used to catch you up to those requirements and carry little requirements other than interest in classics.

What is all that? I already finished high school and got my high school diploma, and i don't want to go to school on a campus, i want to learn online instead, but I'm confused, which is first? associate's degree? I'm interested in technology however all those degrees confuse me is there an order to how to get them? or which do i need to get first……

You get an associates degree usually at a community college, and it takes about two years. A BA takes about four years. After that, you can go for higher degrees.
An online degree offers much the same courses, but on your timeline.
Figure out what you want to study, then do a little research on where to go.

Master's degree, Doctorate, or just Certificates?

I'll be starting my undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in Information Systems Security fairly soon. It's an online degree with DeVry University, known well for their technology degrees among others and not just online.

I want to get further education after I get my undergrad degree. My old roommate, at this university I was at for about a year, ended up getting his undergrad degree in computer science and skipping his master's and going straight for his doctorate which he did end up getting and now he's working for Google.

I thought about doing that, but ONE, I don't know if a doctoral program (non-online) would accept an online undergrad degree as a requirement. TWO, my cousin who teaches computer science classes advised that I go for my undergrad degree and then get Cisco certificates instead of going for another degree.

What do you think?

A masters or PhD is always better than just certificates. Many Masters includes embedded certificates in the program so in fact is a 'super set' of just getting certificates. A PhD is higher again. If you want to do a PhD you can certainly try to do it from a bachelors but I was advised by my teachers to do a Masters first to ease yourself into it. Masters in information assurance are readily available either online or via class attendance eg

What is the starting salary for doctoral school psychologists since most only have a masters or specialist?

I've looked online myself and I've seen that 75% of school psychologists have their masters or specialist degree and I plan to pursue the Ph.D because it gives you more flexibility.

I am pursuing my Master's in School Psychology… I know that with a Ph.D, you make about $5000 more than with a Master's; however, it may also be harder to get a job with a Ph.D in School Psychology than it would be with a Master's.

I want to be a judge, pharmist, or just a good paying job. After high school could I take my assoicate-doctoral degree online and would I get paid the same amount(and same job offerings) as I would if I went to a regular college? and what are some high paying jobs that arent too hard? [ not doctors or dentists because i couldnt stand putting needles in people] please answer!

Chances are, you'll have a better chance of getting a better job if you get into a better college. (Generally, a bachelors from a highly regarded college/university will be preferred over an AA degree from a local or on-line college.)

As for high paying jobs requiring little work…is there such a thing? Usually, you have to work hard to succeed at anything — jobs included. (Most judges have their bachelors, their law school degree, passed the State bar, and practiced law, before becoming one. Likewise for pharmacists — they usually have a 4 year science-related degree with post-graduate degree in pharmacology.) If you're a social person, then perhaps sales is a good option.
