Please read through this. In order for your father to claim you as a dependent, you cannot be the one to provide more than half of your own support for the year (see the guidelines under what defines a "qualifying child"). If you are and you do not fall under the exemptions listed at the bottom of the list, then what he's doing could have consequences with the IRS.

With this in mind (I'm assuming you are or will be 18 soon), check again with FAFSA – if your father should not be claiming you as a dependent based on the information you've given, then your application should be changed accordingly, and hopefully, money will be awarded to you.

Go to the library. Look at the 6 volume College Blue Book. That is a start. Ask the reference librarian about scholarships. I mean all kinds of scholarships. Contact the financial aid office at the college you hope to attend. Fill out a FAFSA form on line.
