Where are you going to get college money? This is actually not a bad question. It’s a crucial one if you intend to go to college. Furthermore, it can be applied to virtually anyone. As you probably already know, folks of all ages, races, creeds, and colors are going to college these days. However, it is an expensive venture, no doubt. Well, if you’re done hitting up the parents, then it’s time to move on. Hey, the folks can’t take care of you forever. When it comes to college money, things can get a little hairy at times. As we all already know, attending a university for 4 years or more is quite pricy. And maybe even extremely pricy if you attend certain ones. Check out the tuition for a year at Harvard for example. That will blow your pants of. On the bright side, college is almost imperative in this day and age. Therefore you certainly shouldn’t feel bad about going. It’s one of the necessities. You take it seriously and get your education. This is return leads to much better job positions. That’s what you’re ultimately striving for, right?

In no time you will be sorting through a number of financial aid resources. Find ones that apply to you. You never know until you try. You may be able to acquire grants. This is wonderful because it’s college money that you don’t have to pay back. In my opinion this is the absolute best type of college money. Search for federal and state grants. Also, check out subsidized loans. This is a common route for college students. Yes, you will have to pay this money back when you’re through with school, but it’s well worth it regardless.
So, have you decided on a college yet? Well, you’d better get cracking with that much-needed college money then. Once school starts, you will need plenty for tuition and books. I know, I know, the world is a cruel place filled with oodles of expenses. That’s just life and you have to take it as it comes. Get online and find your college money source now.
Okay I have already been accepted to college and completed one year. I filled out a fasa, but I'm barely receiving anything. I'm still considered dependent though my father is no longer helping me pay for college education. Are there any legit grants I can apply for in my situation? I'm called fasa and spoken with my college's financial aid office and they haven't helped. Also I have little to no credit so apply for a private student loan with out a co-signer is impossible for me.
I am 19 and don't meet the standards to be considered an independent
I wish I could help you more. Try looking through these websites for aid:
http://www.fedmoney.org/
http://www.findtuition.com/scholarships/?r=googlescholarshipscontext&utm&gclid=COa8×43yrI0CFRcTgQodXn9YtA
I also found this: http://www.irs.gov/publications/p501/ar02.html#d0e3270
Please read through this. In order for your father to claim you as a dependent, you cannot be the one to provide more than half of your own support for the year (see the guidelines under what defines a "qualifying child"). If you are and you do not fall under the exemptions listed at the bottom of the list, then what he's doing could have consequences with the IRS.
With this in mind (I'm assuming you are or will be 18 soon), check again with FAFSA – if your father should not be claiming you as a dependent based on the information you've given, then your application should be changed accordingly, and hopefully, money will be awarded to you.

There is nothing specifically for lupus patients. Most of us can not even afford appropriate medical care and there is no help with that.
Go to the library. Look at the 6 volume College Blue Book. That is a start. Ask the reference librarian about scholarships. I mean all kinds of scholarships. Contact the financial aid office at the college you hope to attend. Fill out a FAFSA form on line.

I live in the Atlanta, GA area and looking for a grant writer to help me fund my college education. Any help?
How does grant writing work?
How much do they charge?
Where may I find a grant writer to hire specifically for education costs?
To get a grant, you don't need anyone to write it for you; there are already grants available specifically for the purpse of pursuing an education at a post-secondary educational institution.
Grant writing is used for non-profit organizations, and not for individuals.
There are 4 federal grants that you may be eligible for:
-Federal Pell Grants
-Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
-The Academic Competitiveness Grant
-National Science and Math Access to Retain Talent (SMART)
There's also state assistance:
Georgia's LEAP (Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership) Grant
Georgia's HOPE Grant Program
Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant Program
Accel Program
Law Enforcement Personnel Dependents Grant
Public Safety Memorial Grant
North Georgia College ROTC Grant
HOPE GED Voucher
Lastly, there are grants available from the institution that you will attend. The greatest part is, when you fill out the FAFSA and submit it, every school considers your eligibility for these scholarsghips. To find out more go to http://www.gacollege411.org/

I know that teachers are hard to find in some states. Are there any that offer to pay off tuition in exchange for teaching for a certain amount of years? Or, are there any programs that might offer a similar service? I know peace corps and americorps offer a benefit like this.
Check with the agency that issued your loan. Many times they will cancel a precentage of your loan if you teach in a public school that is deemed to be a critical needs school. This is exactly what happened for me many years ago and I teach in Mississippi. This is my 25th year of teaching.
You may want to look into TeachAmerica, I think they offer a similar benefit.
